European Space Agency, Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania and the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology announce the call for applications for ESA TRAINING COURSE ON RADAR AND OPTICAL REMOTE SENSING.
The course will take place in Joint Life Sciences Centre of Vilnius University (address: Sauletekio al. 7, Vilnius), on 3-7th of July, 2017.
It is aimed at the promotion and dissemination of Earth Observation (EO) technology in a variety of science and industry fields.
The course will provide an introduction to the basis of theory and applications of radar and optical remote sensing. It will include theoretical lectures as well as hands-on computing exercises. Research scientists and students from all other countries are also welcome to apply and participate in the course subject to space availability. Participation (theory and practical part of the course) is limited to a maximum of 35 participants and subject to selection process. These selected ones must participate in all thourough course. During the selection of participants, priority shall be given to Lithuanian candidates.
MITA welcomes applications from qualified researchers at MsC (or close to completion) and PhD level, professionals, trainers and educators, from Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus (ECS – European Cooperating States) and Malta, who use EO technology within their daily work.
Also candidates from ESA member states will be considered (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom) and Canada, although preference will be given to ECS members.).
Deadline for applications has been extended to 31 May.
